When It All Falls Down
It seems that everytime I have something bad happen in my life I question the Lord and His incredible love for me. “Why God, why?” I tend to ask. “Why would you do this to me?” And “How could this possibly be good?” run through my mind. Everytime though, the change that I feared so much and rebuked the Lord for, was for the better and I learned something about myself, my faith, my love for others and/or my selfishness within.
The truth is, without the hardship and struggle we go through, we would not have defining moments, or accomplishment. We would not be thankful for the blessings we have and we would not value our Lord and His eternal love and commitment to us. We would not draw close to our Lord, as He wants us to. We would have no guidance for our path to walk, because there would be no consequence, nor reason for us to change.
Change is inevitable. God changes us and our surroundings for reasons only He knows but through it all, He never abandons us. Why should I ask the Most High “why?”? What answer would I get that would change the situation or reverse the event? Only the Lord has the power to reverse events and He knows us more intimately than anyone. The why is not always for us to know; What we do about it is.
Fellow Christians, in times of struggle and hardship, draw Him ever nearer to your heart. Be thankful for the struggle and rejoice in Him. He never will abandon you, and in times of struggle, He is closer than ever. We just need to open our hearts to Him and hear His voice in our lives, through the pain and hardship.
This is so much easier said than done but a supernatural peace will still your heart when you do. When you draw the Lord close and take your struggle to Him, you will find the Lord waiting for you. Do not fear. The Lord is with you always.
I hope that these words encourage your relationship with God and may you, even in the toughest of times, rejoice in the Lord and hold Him ever closer to your heart. Lifting up my hardship to the Lord and drawing Him ever closer in the worst of times, has had an incredible effect on me as a person and as a sinner and as a Christian. It strengthens my faith and gives me peace everytime and it is my prayer that it does the same for you.
Thank you for reading and God bless you.
